DUELL ROADMASTER Custom made Audax Frame
The DUELL Roadmaster Audax frame is handmade with Dedacciai COM 12.5 tubing a development of a tube set from the Italian manufacturer Deda, which was launched in the late 90’s with the complicated name of 18MCDV6. This letter-number combination is actually the code for the steel alloy and the extent to which other elements are added.
These tubes were revolutionary because they have a much higher tensile strength (1250 N/mm2) over the commonly used chromoly steel tubes (up to 450 N/mm2). Furthermore, the hardening of the heat-treated tubes after the welding process, makes the weld exceptionally strong and allows for thinner tube walls to be lighter and oversized whilst being extremely stiff. Among famous cyclist who used these frame tubes was Miguel Indurain. Later, the strength of the tubing was further enhanced by Deda, with heat treatment (SAT 14.5 tubing) and a kinetic surface (EOM 16.5 tubing). These three treatments produces the Dedacciai 12.5 tubing which is used to build the Duell Roadmaster frame.
Custom frame sizes are between 49 and 67 cm.
Frames can be specified with standard rear derailler dropout for use with a Rohloff Speedhub chain tensioner or a smooth dropout for using an excentric bottom bracket. . Frameset includes forks, headset and seat post clamp.
Roadmaster Steel Frame and Forks is £1399 and with full carbon forks is £1499.
